Motivational and inspirational quotes have a powerful ability to shift our mindset and outlook on life and work. They give us a quick and timely boost in the quality of our thoughts, which in turn, refuels our energy, psychology, and focus.
These words of wisdom are sometimes what it takes to give us much needed encouragement. Sometimes an inspirational quote is all it takes to provide the instant incentive to get back to work after a setback. It’s like having a coach that tells you they believe in you and that you can achieve what you’ve set out to achieve. It can be a powerful motivator to get back up and try harder.
My neighborhood is full of big magnolia trees – with their beautiful blush pink and soft white petals – that bloom every spring. To me, they are a symbol of beauty, health and enduring strength. Every time I look at them I think about how these big beautiful flowers are the product of all the nurturing and work from the elements that are invisible to me – water, air, sunlight, soil, nutrients, bacteria. These elements continually and persistently work to achieve an impressive outcome every spring. It is the same with our lives and our work, a considerable amount of work is required on our part that is invisible to others. And because it’s invisible, it’s easy to forget that it exists. Every successful person talks about the tremendous amount of work they had to put in to get to where they are and these words are what inspires me to keep going. They remind me how important it is to put in consistent and persistent effort no matter how slow the progress may be.
Here are some of my favorite words of wisdom that have come in handy when I needed them the most.
“Don’t talk, just act. Don’t say, just show. Don’t promise, just prove.”
“You only fail when you stop trying.”
“Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strength.”
“The only time you should look back is to see how far you’ve come.”
“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”
